Brain Games + More Social Group

Join The Heart Space NJ and fellow friends for a fun community centered gathering playing your favorite card and board games!

 We will supply the card/board/puzzles/coloring games and location, you bring the fun! :)

This fun and therapeutic recreation meetup is intended to provide a supported and supervised opportunity to meet like-minded adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, offer space to socialize, connect and forge friendships while supporting healthy brain function!

You MUST RSVP to join. We can not allow drop ins. 

Location:

 Spire Coffee House

1922 Hooper Ave, Toms River, NJ 08753

(located between Brick and Toms River)

 This location is wheelchair accessible.  

Dates and Times:

Each meet up will be 90 minutes long - You are not obligated to come to all meetups nor stay the entire 90 minutes. You come when you can and stay for as long as you can/wish.

Cost:

The first meet up is free. 

Please inquire on cost on going. 

*All programs under The Heart Space are DDD approved and funded by your DDD budget! 

* If you do not have a budget, you can pay a reduced cash rate for the meet up

You are not obligated to purchase anything from the coffee shop but if you want to purchase a drink or snack, you'll need to bring money. 

I will help students make purchases should they need support doing so!

Inclusionary Group Requirements:

 This is the most important thing! 

In order to have successful meet-ups we ask that all participants actively want to meet others, play games/puzzles/color and be a part of the group. :) 

We will have staff to assist but ask that

  minimal hands-on assistance be needed for individuals joining us and appropriate community behaviors are also required in order to respect the kindness of the coffeehouse. 

 Parents and Caregivers are asked not to linger amongst the group and let their loved one have space and independence. However, we definitely welcome you to stay, enjoy a coffee, read a book and connect with other parents on the opposite end of the coffee shop. 

Alternatively, You may also drop off and come back.
